Statement: Update on the Deferment of the Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham (BGL) Pathology Services Transfer

Published: 29th October 2021 - All information correct at time of publication.

An announcement was recently made to defer the transfer of pathology services for primary and community services in Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham (BGL) to Viapath. The decision to defer was agreed by all parties to allow for further review and testing, to ensure full assurance before proceeding.

Additional testing has now been undertaken and all partners are committed to a transfer date in November 2021, and as soon as possible. An exact date is expected to be confirmed once a number of key meetings have taken place early in the week commencing 1 November.

Thank you to everyone involved for your continued efforts to ensure a smooth and seamless transfer.
