New Consumables Ordering Portal

Published: 9th September 2022 - All information correct at time of publication.

Our new pathology logistics provider, Global Services Group (GSG), started making sample collections from practices across South East London this week and will soon begin providing a new consumables portal.

The new consumables ordering portal will replace the current one provided by City Sprint, which is used by practices in Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham and those in Southwark and Lambeth that send samples to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital laboratories.

If your practice is elsewhere and you order through sites other than those operated by CitySprint, your service will remain as it is. For example, those in Bromley and those in Southwark and Lambeth that send samples to Denmark Hill laboratories will be unaffected by this change.

The new portal will come into operation from 24 October and you will be able to order specimen containers, bags and forms and other items you need, just as you do now, and the catalogue of items available will remain the same.

To enable your practice to use the portal, we will be setting up an account for your practice and we will tell you more soon. Please look out for an email from Viapath Customer Services about this.

We are also organising some webinars to help you through this change in October (dates to be announced). Please do your best to send a representative to these so that you can be confident that you are informed and understand what you need to do.

We will ensure we provide you with further updates as these become available.
