Welcome to the information hub for the pathology services provided to primary and community care in Southwark, Lambeth, Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham. These services are provided by the SYNLAB and NHS partnership (Synnovis) in South East London.
These pages have been designed to provide GPs, practice managers, community-based nurses and all other healthcare colleagues affected with the resources required to help you.
About the Transfer
Pathology services provided to GP practices and adult community services (Oxleas) in Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham transferred from Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust to the SYNLAB and NHS pathology partnership on 12 November.
The transfer is part of a wider programme to transform pathology services across the region, under a partnership involving SYNLAB UK & Ireland with Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts.
Existing hospital-based laboratory and diagnostic services will be transformed into a world-leading, integrated ‘hub and spoke’ pathology network over the next four years, in line with the NHS’s own clinical vision and strategy for high-quality pathology provision in the future.
Pathology services provided to primary and community services in Bromley, Southwark and Lambeth will remain unchanged as these are already undertaken by Synnovis.
